Environmental Policy
Background
Argosy recognises its obligations as a supplier to operate its business in an environmentally responsible way. It is our aim to comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and corporate requirements and, if it is deemed appropriate, adopt more stringent standards for the protection of the environment and the communities in which we operate.
Policy
Argosy manages its business and is collaborating with our suppliers to comply with the European RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC), taking effect July 1, 2006.The RoHS directive prohibits the sale of electronic equipment containing certain hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls ("PBB") and polybrominated diphenylethers ("PBDE") above certain minimum levels in the European Union.
Methodology
Compliance with all relevant legislation, taking into account any appropriate exemptions, is achieved based on competent design and manufacture and on assurances from suppliers of components, sub assemblies and other items which form an integral part of the products we supply. Products are not routinely tested and this declaration of compliance reflects our best endeavours and our due diligence to ensure, as far as is reasonably possible, that our products are compliant, where applicable.

This declaration is based on our state of knowledge and belief as of the date that it is provided.
Argosy bases its knowledge and belief on information provided by third parties and in certain circumstances laboratory test results and makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of such information. Argosy has taken and continues to take reasonable steps to provide representative and accurate information but may not have conducted destructive testing or chemical analysis on incoming materials and substances. In no event shall Argosy’s liability arising out of such information exceed the total purchase price of the product supplied.

Argosy is a member of the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM).
WEEE Directive
Argosy are fully compliant with the WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC and relevant national regulations under the WEEE Regulations, which came into force in July 2007. Argosy is a member of the WeeeCare compliance scheme, who will act on our behalf for the collection, treatment and reporting of all Argosy’s WEEE responsibilities. Our WEEE Environment Agency Producer Registration Number is : WEE/DJ1333XT.
