The Argosy crew extends a warm welcome to customers and friends, both old and new to call in and see them at NAB 2008 Las Vegas.
There are a number of important new products to see from key manufacturers including ADC, ISIS, Fujitsu, Siemon, Draka, and Graham Patten. As well as Argosy’s new 14way MDU, a changeover switcher and an array of video accessories. Also on show will be Argosy’s leading range of IMAGE HD Digital Video cables, recognised worldwide for their superior performance in broadcast, transmission and production houses facilities.

!! Argosy Showcases Latest Products at BroadcastLive/VideoForum 2008
Argosy will be showcasing its latest ranges of products at BroadcastLive/VideoForum 2008 (Earl’s Court 2, London 30 January – 1 February 2008), including the latest version of its equipment rack, MDUs, a changeover switcher and a array of video accessories. Also on display at the show will be Argosy’s leading range of IMAGE HD video cables that are recognised worldwide for their high performance in broadcast, transmission and production houses facilities.

Argosy introduce the NEW family of ISIS Routing Switchers. These encompass 8x4, 8x8, and 16x16 routing switchers, which operate within the prescribed SMPTE performance requirements. The HD-SDI/SDI switchers are fully compatible with other switchers in the INNOVATION range. Analogue or digital (AES/EBU) audio levels may be added to the base switchers as needed.
All of the boards are front loading and hot-swappable. The frames include a slot for a redundant power supply and both power supplies are front loading and hot-swappable.

Argosy Appointed as Master Distributor for LEN Produsts range of HD-SDI and SD-SDI Passive Splitters.
Being completely passive , this range of splitters are ideal for applications such as monitor feeds, as unlike Distribution Amplifiers the presence od a signal at one output implies with almost 100% certainty that the signal is present at the other output.

Siemon appoints Argosy as new distributor for broadcast market
Argosy sales director Bob Clark explains: “We see our partnership with Siemon as a strategic move to allow us to expand our offering to our well established broadcast customer base. With the Siemon portfolio we will be adding the highest specification data components and systems to our existing range. We only work with best-in-class vendors and have chosen Siemon as the technical innovator at the forefront of the structured cabling industry.”
Argosy will be distributing Siemon’s three latest cabling solutions: Siemon 10G 6A UTP (unshielded), 10G 6A F/UTP (screened), and TERA® fully shielded ClassF/Category 7. All are IEEE 802.3an 10Gigabit Ethernet standard compliant.
On signing the distribution agreement Rob Tansley, regional director of Siemon EMEA, said “We are very pleased to be working with Argosy to provide leading data solutions to the broadcast market. Our longer term aims are to develop new relationships with the end users and strategic integrators in this sector and to develop systems that will enhance the capability of their cabling infrastructure.”
Siemon recently won the ITP award for outstanding innovation in cabling. Its TERA® technology is known to be the highest performing twisted pair copper cabling system available - delivering performance levels to 10 Gbps and far beyond.

Argosy is pleased to announce a new alliance with the ISIS Group.
Established in 1997, the ISIS Group, which is based in Grass Valley California, manufactures analogue and digital, audio and video, routing switchers for the Broadcast and Multimedia Industries.
With immediate effect Argosy is responsible for the sales and service support of ISIS products throughout Europe Africa and the Middle East.
According to Bob Clark, Argosy Sales Director: ”The addition of the ISIS range of routing switchers to our existing product portfolio is another significant step forward to increase our service level to our customers both at home and abroad with the best possible products, and highest levels of support”.
To spearhead this new area of operation, Argosy is pleased to announce the appointment of John Parker as Product Specialist.
John has been in the broadcast industry for over 30 years and has worked for several routing switcher manufacturers including Grass Valley Group, Sierra Video Systems and NVision

This year Argosy will be featuring ADC's NEW HI-DEF MUSA Video Patch Panels and NEW Field repairable Triax Connector system. Also on show will be Neutrik's NEW USB/Firewire Connector sysyem and the NEW XX series XLR connectors. In addition, Argosy will be showing their proven Racking system, as well as Media's NEW 12 way Powercon MDU and NEW cables from Draka.

Argosy Cable and Trimedia Middle East put an end to cable and connector confusion and wiring woes for the region.
The first day of CabSat 2005 saw Mike Purnell of Argosy Cable and Graham Day of TriMedia Middle East sign a strategic partnership agreement on the Argosy booth in the UK Pavilion. The agreement gives Broadcasters and System Integrators (SI) a major sup-port boost in the region allowing them to source cable and connectors locally within Dubai.
“The agreement means TriMedia Middle East will be able to supply, within a 24 hour turn-around, high demand items of Argosy’s products, which our customers need at short no-tice to start a project”. “This allows them to get up and running quickly whilst we prepare the larger project pallet in the UK”, Mike Purnell explains. “It also means that if customers want one-off items for small projects they can order them directly from Graham and the guys”.
“That’s right”, says Graham Day “For example, we will supply customers who require a drum of cable or connectors directly. We will be posting the stock we are holding on our website and anybody can order over the web or contact us to place an order or for our product list”. “We feel that this new ser-vice will definitely add further value to the supply of Argosy products in the region’.

Argosy introduce Fujitsu's new CAT 5 Extender/Line Driver with allows a console KVM to be extended up to 200M away using standard CAT 5E UTP cable. Model B714 with its unique XLR I/O feature permits Ground Based Digital Broadcast applications to benifit from broadcast quality audio extension.

Argosy introduce Fujitu's range of KVM Switches which through their multi processor design ensures the seamless stable switching between any attached systems.
The 1U Console drawer makes possible an optional intergration of 8 or 16 port KVM devices together with a 15inch TFT LCD(1024x768 resolution) and keboard and touch pad for local operation in a 19inch rack.

We're Moving!
Having out grown their Stokenchurch facility, Mike, Ken and the rest of the Argosy crew are moving to their new custom built 8000sq.ft. of warehousing and office accommodation based at Long Crendon Buckinghamshire.
The move will take place over the weekend of the 12/13th July so as to ensure no disruption to service. Argosy plan to be up and running ready to accept orders and ship product on Monday morning the 14th July.

Ethercon Features;
The Female chassis conectors are based on the current Neutrik A, B and D series XLR receptacles.
Secure XLR latching system-a feature not found on other RJ45 receptacles.
Terminations are horizontal and vertical PCB or IDC, both Krone and 110. Colour coding is available for both the cable and chassis mounted versions.
Ethercon connectors comply with CAT5 (IDC and vertical PCB versions) sheilded or unshielded for use with 10 Base-T and 100base-TX systems.
