Argosy to Showcase Latest Infrastructure Range at NAB 2012

Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, March 27, 2012 — Argosy, a leading international supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, is showing its latest addition to its infrastructure range including video patch panels, Belden Brilliance® High-Definition Broadcast BNC Connectors, rack-mounted monitors and Ophit’s digital AV (DVI/HDMI) fibre optic extenders at NAB 2012 (Booth no. N4316 in Las Vegas Convention Centre, 16-19 April 2012).
Showing for the first time at NAB 2012 will be the latest video patch panel manufactured by BES. This high performance 24-way panel is designed for uncompromised performance even with 1080p 3Gb/s signals. The 1U MUSA panel is built with high durability gold plated connectors, giving an insertion loss of less than 0.5dB and a true 75Ω nominal impedance. Each panel is tested with a 1080p signal over 50m of cable before delivery to guarantee performance to SMPTE 424M. Complementary U links and patchcords, in a range of colours for coding, are also available from Argosy.
At NAB Argosy will also demonstrate the Brilliance HD family of BNC connectors from Belden. Designed specifically for Belden Brilliance broadcast and professional AV coaxial cables, these BNC connectors maximise broadcast signal integrity, quality, performance and durability providing unparalleled end-to-end performance. The connectors provide better than -20 dB Return Loss performance through 4.5 GHz, exceeding the SMPTE specification requirements. The patented HD Brilliance 1-piece locking design features a screw-lock collar to physically “lock” the bayonet nut of the BNC in position limiting movement of the BNC head and creating coaxial alignment from the cable through the BNC centre pin, delivering superior return loss performance. Easy to fit, with brass construction and patented compression rings ensuring pullout forces exceeding 445 N depending on the cable type.
Visitors will also see the latest 4U rack mount monitor for the first time at NAB. Featuring individually tilting twin 16x9 7 inch screens, capable of displaying HD (1080i), analogue composite and analogue component video inputs. These monitors include dual channel audio inputs with on screen level displays and speaker or headphone confidence monitoring. These new monitors allow for easy set up using the screen menus accessible from the front of each monitor.
Argosy will showcase a range of DVI and HDMI extension systems from Ophit including the HSP Series — an optical HDMI extension module, designed to allow digital flat panel display to extend over 1000 meters away from host based on HDMI standard by optical transmission technology. Its small package and transmit up to four video and one low-speed lane, while simultaneously receiving one low-speed signal, all on one multimode fibre. Additionally Ophit’s unique DSL Series fibre optical cable system allows for high speed, long distance transmission by SC type multi-mode with only one optical fibre.
