Argosy to Highlight Fixed Installation and DeployableSolutions that Simplify IP and 4K Infrastructure at MPTS
Infrastructure specialist teams with Canare to showcase 4K ultra HD SDIcables and tactical fibre built for harsh environments at The Media Production and Technology Show
LONG CRENDON, UK – 29 March, 2022 – Argosy, a leading international supplier of infrastructure products, will be exhibiting at the Media Production & Technology Show on 11-12 May (Stand L710, Olympia London), showcasing a range of fixed installation and deployable solutions in support of IP and 4K production; including power management solutions, patch panels, KVM devices, racks, cables, SMPTE reels and tactical fibre.
“Our comprehensive range of active and passive hardware solutions all complement each other to simplify the management of production, content management and delivery infrastructure builds and operations, said Chris Smeeton, director, Argosy.
Argosy will be exhibiting with partner, Canare, a leading manufacturer of audio and video cables, connectors, patch bays, and fibre-optic products for the television broadcast industry and the professional A/V market.
Argosy’s partnership with Canare has brought great value to the European broadcast industry over the last few years, by supporting its transition to IP production over SMPTE 2110 and to higher resolutions of 4K and beyond. Canare will showcase pro audio and video cables for speakers, microphones, coax, Ethernet and more, including 4K Ultra HD SDI cables and 12Gproducts.Argosy will also be highlighting new broadcast workspace solutions with KVM technology from partners ATEN, G&D and kvm-tec. KVM devices save costs on redundant hardware, reduce cabling and infrastructure, consolidate desk space, and increase performance by having multiple computers working as one.
“Within broadcast, the IP-based production workflow now connects the broadcast infrastructure to the wider global IT infrastructure, cost-effectively improving networking and signal transportation,” said Smeeton. “Such networks need to be supported by IP-based 4K-ready switching and extension products.”
An Argosy Image rack will host Argosy and TSL Products’ standard and intelligent mains distribution units, along with patch panels from Argosy, Canare, BES and Ghilemetti. A selection of Argosy’s Image cables and Belden cables will also be on display, plus range ofopticalCON advanced tactical fibre assemblies, including the opticalCON Duo, opticalCONQuad and the opticalCON MTP connection systems. These provide a broad range of multiplexed connectivity solutions, including fibre splitters and high resilience connectors.
To further help engineers to deploy infrastructure in the field, Argosy has developed a number of OB and studio specific solutions, including special over-jacketed cables for ruggedized protection in harsh environments, such as Argosy’s new Hyperflex SMPTE camera cable. Hyperflex is designed for simple and fast deployment of cable assemblies to speed up rigging and derigging, making it ideal for outside broadcast and studio installation. Unlike standard SMPTE cables, fibres and copper are enclosed in customised polyurethane rubberised compound outer jackets for unmatched resilience. Argosy will also be presenting custom SMPTE cable reels. For more information, please visit Argosy at MPTS stand L710 or go to www.argosycable.com.
