Description Technical Specification

Cleaning OpticalCON connectors is crucial because even microscopic dust and oils on the ferrule end-face cause significant signal loss and poor performance. Mating dirty connectors can also permanently scratch the fiber, leading to costly repairs and network failure.

Fibre Microscope

  • Comes with both 2.5mm and 1.25mm mating adaptors to accommodate ST, SC, FC and LC fibre connectors
  • Large, easy to use focus ring to quickly sharpen the image
  • High quality 4.3" LCD touch screen display for easy viewing
  • Users can lock the X/Y position into a fixed setting using set screws, or they may use the included thumb screws for quick, easy adjustments

Optical Power Meter

  • Green lights show good power levels, yellow lights for low but measurable signal, and red for very low power levels
  • The meter readout is also shown on a high-vis OLED screen showing precision power levels in several units. Absolute units shown as decibels with reference to one milliwatt(dBm) and actual milliwatts(mW)
  • Hold the button to zero the meter to a reference level
  • Connect to the power meter with a known good patch cable, then zero out the power meter. Now you can test any cable between the two LC connectors on the BarnDr. and take reliable measurements of the cable’s condition

Visual Fault Indicator

  • Extremely simple use, just press the button to turn on the laser. Extremely handy to ID fibre lines or to cause breaks and tight bends visible in patch cables to glow.
  • At 2mW, the laser is powerful enough to get light to anywhere in your venue, but still safe and legal to use.
