This high-density D-type connector consists of a nickel-plated steel shell, a glass-filled thermoplastic insulator that meets UL 94V-0, and solder bucket contacts (Performance level 3 as per DIN 41 652, part 2.). The dimpled shell provides grounding and additional retention. The machined contacts are made of gold-plated brass, and the high-density range exceeds by 70% the contact capacity of a standard subminiature D connector,
Suitable for Industrial, Telecom, and any industry-standard I/O connections, the connector’s decreased contact spacing accommodates greater signal density in comparison to conventional D-Sub connectors. The screw machined contacts offer high reliability, and the metal shell provides EMI/RFI shielding. The connectors will fit in standard D-sub backshells, and the contacts will accept (28 - 24) gauge wire.
