A popular type of I/O connector commonly used in the computer and datacoms industry, the D-Sub connector provides power and point-to-point communications between two devices such as a computer and a monitor.
The 9 way D-shaped metal shell contains two parallel rows of pins or sockets and provides mechanical support, ensuring secure mating through correct orientation. With a robust, high-performing design, it is suitable for communications and network ports in a wide range of industries, including industrial, commercial and medical.
With pre-drilled 3.05mm diameter holes on either side of the feature flanges for easy panel mounting, the pins of this subminiature connector are machined to a high quality and the solder cup, a hollow cup-like cavity, holds the wire, which is secured by soldering.
These male connectors have an RS232 standard interface, are Performance Level 1, which exceeds DIN Class 2, and conform to BS9523 F0010 and F0018.
Caution: a plastic shell D-sub cannot be mated with a metal shell D-sub.
