The DX OS2 (Optical Singlemode Fiber) is a tightly-buffered, extremely strong, lightweight, and rugged cable designed for indoor and outdoor use in the broadcast field and commercial applications. Its compact, round cable design makes it ideal in harsh environments where easy transportation, deployment, and retrieval of cables for reuse are required, and reduced size and weight are essential. Rigorously tested, the 24-core fibre-optic cable is used worldwide in broadcast data communications applications.
Made resilient with a thick layer of aramid strength members, the 9/125um cable is chemical, crush, and rodent resistant, making it suitable for industrial, mining, and petrochemical environments. It is most commonly used with ruggedised multiway military tactical field connectors for maximum connector retention (400lbs).
Jacket is made from polyurethane to provide abrasion, cut and chemical resistance and is core-locked for improved mechanical performance. A ripcord is located under the jacket to facilitate jacket removal. The cable core is helically stranded for flexibility, survival in difficult pulls, and exceptional mechanical protection for the optical fibres.
Cable is made with a tactical polyurethane (C) outer jacket materials as standard. Also available in a range of Flame-Retardant Tactical (V) and Low-Smoke Zero-Halogen (G) outer jackets.
Cable is tested according to TIA/EIA-455, IEC-60794-1-1 and EN-187000.
